"Inspiring yet humble. Hilarious yet heart-breaking. A moving read" - FIVE STARS!
Amazon reviewer on HEF OFF
Published author, copywriter, poet, ghost writer, lyricist. Naomi Hefter has the whole package when it comes to writing, but there was an extraordinary journey to get there...
Naomi's first and biggest passion is writing, starting with reading out a poem she wrote about her unconventional family at school when she was four.
Being voted funniest person at school Naomi was the ultimate class clown. After a B.A Hons degree in Drama and Creative Writing, Naomi moved to Bristol to pursue a career as an actress. Small TV roles and modelling jobs came in, however Naomi was always drawn to writing, constantly creating thought provoking articles, moving poetry and song lyrics, along with the love of reviewing movies.
In 2008 Naomi moved to London and within a year she had completed a course on how to write and edit scrips for stand up comedy. To pass the course she had to perform the stand up she had written. When her first gig went extremely well, Naomi started a whirl wind rollercoaster ride on the comedy scene which took her to performing all over the world and writing and performing two solo shows.
After seven years as a stand up, she took a step back to write her first book, HEF OFF, a memoir about her time in the comedy world, being single and her personal journey about life, adding in some jaw dropping hilarious honesty too.
Naomi and her story may be outrageous, but her book just goes to show how truly heart felt and genuine she is too. From being stuck in a rut, taking any job that was on offer during the start of her stand up career, to stealing smoked salmon and making friends with the policeman who arrested her. Naomi's story is to entertain but to inspire people who might be suffering from mental health issues, plus those who hate their dead end job and are on a journey to get what they really deserve in life.
Naomi is now a professional copywriter, editor and lyricist - married to the man who features in Hef Off, and in a good place in life.
HEF OFF is out now, enjoy her incredible journey leading her up to becoming a professional writer.
